When does it run?
This is a week-long holiday camp course, and only runs during school breaks, such as Half-Terms, Easter Breaks and Summer Holidays.
Your child will attend classes from 09:30 – 13:00, Monday to Friday. You can view the exact dates of available camps on our booking page.
Where does it take place?
All our classes are online with a live tutor. Your child will be able to see the tutor and their screen. Just like a physical lesson, your child can ask for help and request their tutor to see & even control their screen.
In the 21st Century, it’s crucial for your child to learn “how to learn online”, because if your child master’s this skill, there will be no limit to what they can learn!
Who is it for?
This course is suitable for students 9 to 16 years old. No previous experience required!
What does it teach?
Students will learn games development with Unreal Engine, the same tool taught at universities and used to develop games such as Fortnite, Star Wars & Batman!

How do they get certified?
A single camp provides 50% of the criteria required for achieving an NCFE Accredited Qualification. By joining 2 camps, you will meet the full requirement for achieving our Level 1 Award Qualification. Assessment is coursework based and completed during class hours, with no further exams required but there is a small additional assessment fee for this.

Our 3D games design camp for kids is just awesome!
In this 5 day long holiday camp, your child will learn how to design & code a 3D game using Unreal Engine 4.
Unreal Engine 4 is used by professional game design studios. In fact your child’s most favorite games such as Fortnite, Rocket League, Start Wars, Batman & Street Fighter, were all made with Unreal Engine 4.
By the end of the holiday camp, students will have a completed the design of their game, which they can share with family and friends.
Their game will also be an outstanding piece of portfolio that will impress at any potential school or college interview!
The course will also improve your child’s soft-skills, such as creative thinking, problem solving and will boost their self-esteem.

Everything you need to know about 3D Computer Games Design Holiday Camps For kids
Your child will...
Technical skills is a key aspect of this course, and students will learn different elements of designing a 3D game. Students will learn about design processes, such as 3D level design, 3D modelling, texturing & materials, lighting and particle systems. They will also learn programming and scripting for games, such as artificial intelligence, game physics, weapon systems, menus and user interface. And last but not least, characters! Students will learn how to design and program characters and give them attributes like health & damage.
This course will improve your child’s soft skills too. During the camp, students are challenged with different tasks, improving their problem solving skills. Your child will be encouraged to have a creative approach and think outside the box. Ultimately, they’re designing a game, so they can create a world with endless possibilities and imagination. Creating a game similar to the games they play regularly will significantly improve their self-esteem and boost their self-confidence!
This course will help your child progress faster & better at school & college. Students will learn a lot more about computer science, how coding works, and how 3D design is achieved through game technology.
At Software Academy, you will also have the option to get your child certified. Our NCFE accredited qualifications go up to 3 levels: Level 1 Award, Level 2 Certificate, and Level 3 Diploma. By joining 2 holiday camps, your child will meet the requirements to achieve Level 1 award, and can then progress onto level 2 & 3!

How to prepare for the 3D Computer Games Design Holiday Camps For kids
You will need to download and install Unreal Engine for this course. Even though this is a free software, it requires a relatively recent computer to run. Typically, any computer or laptop purchased within the previous 4 years should be sufficient. Unreal Engine works on both Windows and Mac OS X, but cannot be used on other devices such as Chromebooks or tablets.
We have created a complete guide to help you prepare for this camp.
In the event that your system does not meet the requirement to join this camp, we offer an excellent alternative with our Python coding camp which has a significantly lower system requirement and will work fine on most computers & laptops.
