Project 1 - First-Person Shooter
For their first project, students will create a First-Person Shooter (FPS) game. This project provides a fun and engaging introduction to the basics of 3D game design.
Unreal Engine UI
Students start by learning the User Interface (UI) of Unreal Engine, building a strong foundation for future projects.Level Design & Materials
Next, they move on to level design and material creation, where they will learn to design and develop game environments.Game Logic with Blueprints
Finally, students will be introduced to blueprints, where they will explore the basics of coding and scripting. They’ll learn important concepts like:- Variables
- Events
- Functions
- And much more
This step-by-step approach helps students understand the fundamentals of game design and programming in a fun, hands-on way.
Project 2 - Mario-like Sidescroller Game
For the second project, the student will create a Mario-like Sidescroller Game.
The student will be introduced to new uses for tools they learned before, as well as more complex Game mechanics!
- Basic model creation
This project will teach the students how to create basic models inside unreal for Level creation and - Level Mechanics
Student will learn how to create different and fun obstacles and mechanics
For a mario game, using tools like:
- Timeline
- Physics system
- Checkpoints
- And many more
- Creating AI Enemies
The students will create fun and engaging enemies, and learn how to balance their game.
This project reinforces the game design, and coding principles, while introducing new fun ways of game creation.
Project 3 - 3rd Person Shooter game
In the final project the student will explore another Game Genre and create a 3rd Person Shooter game. This capstone experience complates the foundational journey, designed to challenge students and refine their skills.

With this the last level 1 project, the students master the final basic elements of game development, while creating a fully functional game!
Don’t just play your favourite games – make them!
Have you ever wondered how your favourite games are made? Our 3D Game Design and Development course lets game enthusiasts aged between 9 and 16 learn the tech skills they need to build their very own games.
Join your fellow gaming enthusiasts and learn how to edit existing games or create your own video games. You’ll work with the same tools used to make some of the world’s biggest games, including Fortnite, PUBG, Rocket League, and Borderlands 3.
These video game design courses for kids have been designed by a university lecturer with an extensive background in computer science – so you’ll receive the same quality training as students studying 3D games design courses at colleges and universities…although we like to think ours is a bit more fun!
But don’t just take our word for it. The quality of this 3D game design course for kids has been endorsed by NCFE, a nationally recognised awarding body. And, once you’ve completed the course, you’ll receive an accredited qualification from them. We’re the only provider to offer this qualification – you won’t find it anywhere else.

- Artificial Intelligence
- Character Design
- User Interface
- Scripting
- 3D Modelling
- Texturing
- Material Design
- Asset Creation
- Concept Design
- Animation
In this course, students will develop their own 3D games, using the same tools and techniques used by professional game design studios.
Students will learn about design processes, such as 3D level design, 3D modelling, texturing & materials, lighting and particle systems. They will also learn programming and scripting for games, such as artificial intelligence, game physics, weapon systems, menus and user interface.
To develop their games, students will be using Unreal Engine, the world’s most powerful game engine used by the world’s biggest game development companies, to design some of the world’s most famous games.
Some examples of the games made with Unreal Engine are:
- Fortnite
- Batman
- Star Wars
- Rocket League
- PUBG
- Gears 5
- Borderlands 3
- Street Fighter 5
- Minecraft Dungeons
- ARK: Survival Evolved
- Final Fantasy 7 Remake
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
Technical skills is a key aspect of this course, and students will learn different elements of designing a 3D game.
Additionally, this course will also improve your child’s soft skills too.
Students are challenged with different tasks, improving their problem solving skills. Your child will be encouraged to have a creative approach and think outside the box.
By completing this course, students will achieve a Level 1 award, an NCFE Accredited Qualification. They will then be able to progress onto Level 2 Certificate and then Level 3 Diploma.
Also, their projects will be seen as a outstanding portfolio piece & considered a great achievement by potential schools, colleges and even employers!

Just like a physical class, but online!
Our classes are conducted online using Zoom. Students can see the tutor’s computer screen for demonstrations. With permission, our tutor can view and control your child’s screen to provide direct assistance. Our tutors will always have their webcam on, but this is optional for your child.
Missing lessons:
All classes are recorded. If you miss a lesson, you can request the recording to catch up. Private 1-to-1 catch-up lessons are available for an additional fee. Missing more than 5 lessons may require additional catch-up sessions at an extra cost.
We have a “No Contract. Cancel Anytime” Policy. If you’re not happy with the course, you can withdraw at any point without making any further payments. No questions asked.
Hardware Requirement:
You’ll need a Windows or Mac computer. As we’re teaching students industry standard tools & techniques, you won’t be able to join on any other devices such as a phone, tablet, Chromebook or Galaxy book.
Due to the nature of this tool, it requires a computer with relatively good specifications. Ideally, any computer purchased in the past 4 to 5 year should be good enough to run this tool.
Tech savvy parents: For official hardware specifications, please click here.
Software Requirement & Licenses:
All software used in this course are free of charge.
But please note we keep our curriculum up to date to teach your child the most relevant skills. Sometimes this may mean switching to other tools or programs which may involve a license cost. If there is a requirement to pay for any new tools, we will be in touch with you to inform you.
Once you have registered onto our program, you will receive instructions & support on how to prepare your computer.
We allow enrollments past September.
Your class schedule may change depending on how late you join. For example, your lessons duration may be longer than 60 minutes, or we may allocate additional catch up lessons for you.
Regardless of when you join, we’ll always make sure that your child is grouped with other students who are joining at the same time and are all at a similar age and level.
This course provides 3 levels. Each level takes 1 academic year to complete and students must go through each level in order.
There is no obligation or commitment from your end to continue onto all 3 levels. Each level has its own registration process and you’ll need to register each year for the next level.
