About us

Software Academy is the UK’s only academy to provide NCFE accredited qualification to kids in creative tech subjects.

We bring university level education to kids aged 6 to 16, and teaching them industry level tools and techniques.

Our courses include Game Design, Coding, 3D Modelling & Animation, Architectural Visualisation, Graphic Design, Computing Basics, and much more!

We offer 4 study modes: Private tuition, Term Time group lessons, Holiday Camps & Self-guided.

About this role

This role is a golden opportunity for undergrad students or recently graduated students, but we welcome applications from all individuals with all levels of experiences.

This is a fulfilling role as you’ll be able to share your knowledge and skills with young students.

You will teach online lessons, remotely from the comfort of your home.
Classes could be 1-to-1 private lessons, or group lessons of up to 5 like minded students.

This role requires candidates to provide a minimum of 15 hours of availability to the academy each week.

Responsibilities:

  • To use Software Academy’s curriculum to teach young kids & add your own touch when needed.
  • Support students with their learning and encourage creativity
  • Track student progress and provide feedback
  • Ensure all students & parents are happy & excited about our courses.
  • Keep our database updated with all relevant information
  • Communicate with the admin team to ensure smooth scheduling and lesson delivery

Skills

Strong knowledge in one or more of the following:

Python
Unreal Engine (Blueprints)
Unity & C#
Lua (Roblox)

Minecraft (MCreator)
Sketchup
Blender
Adobe (Photoshop/Illustrator)
Scratch
Web Development

Qualities

  • Available to work on evenings & weekends
  • Have access to a decent computer/laptop & high speed internet connection
  • Willing to teach and share your knowledge with young children (6 to 16 years old)
  • Energetic personality & patient with kids.
  • Friendly, patient, and encouraging
  • Organised and reliable
  • Passionate about teaching and making tech fun
  • Punctual with positive and calm attitude at all times.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
